About Le Vieux Faisan

A little old. A little unusual. Occasionally magnificent.

Le Vieux Faisan was born from a shared passion between husband and wife — partners in life, in travel, and in the irresistible pursuit of beautiful and unusual things.

We love the objects that stop you in your tracks. The piece that makes your heart race. The one you walk away from, tell yourself you don’t need… and then simply have to go back for.

That’s a Le Vieux Faisan find.

With more than 30 years’ experience in furniture and interiors, we have an eye for craftsmanship, character and those little details that make something special. But we’re equally attracted to the eccentric, the unexpected and the wonderfully unnecessary.

Found here, there… and occasionally somewhere unexpected.

Our finds come from across Britain and our travels through France, Spain, the Balearics, Norway, the Baltics, Eastern Europe and beyond — from brocantes and antique centres to markets, auctions, reclamation yards and tiny shops discovered completely by accident.

Sometimes we’re deliberately hunting.
Sometimes we’re supposed to be on holiday.
The distinction has become increasingly blurred.

There are no rules. It might be old, beautiful, architectural, curious or gloriously eccentric.

Sometimes we buy with our heads. More often, one of us falls in love with something and persuades the other that we can somehow get it home.

Pourquoi Le Vieux Faisan?

The Old Pheasant.
A little French. A little eccentric. Slightly romantic. Perhaps just a touch grander than necessary.

We thought it suited us perfectly.

Bienvenue chez Le Vieux Faisan.

Have a wander. Fall in love with something you weren’t looking for.

And if you walk away… don’t be surprised if you find yourself coming back.

Buying from Le Vieux Faisan

Old things sometimes have old scars. We think that is part of their charm — but we will always do our best to photograph and describe each piece clearly.

Condition & Authenticity

Our pieces may be vintage, pre-owned, reclaimed, decorative or modern. Significant wear, damage, repairs or weathering known to us will be highlighted. Where we know an item is a reproduction, later copy or revival piece, we will say so clearly. Where age or origin cannot be established, we will make that clear rather than present it as fact.

Smalls & Postable Items

Smaller items will normally be sent by post or an appropriate parcel delivery service only. Collection is not normally available for these pieces. The delivery charge will be confirmed and agreed before purchase.

Larger Pieces

For larger, heavy or fragile pieces, weekend collection may be available by prior arrangement, or we may quote for an appropriate delivery service. Our collection address is provided only after purchase and payment. Payment is required before collection or dispatch, with PayPal our preferred payment method.
